My friend, Jeffrey, died. Jeff was a powerful, intelligent and young Black man. He reminded me of the Hulk and he loved to wear green. I first met him when I was a student at Brooklyn College. He was completing a second master's degree and applying to PhD programs. Jeff had a wicked sense of humor. Whenever I was in his company, I was likely laughing out loud. I miss him terribly and have to prepare myself to go to another funeral. This one really hurts. #FuckCOVID.
